Savory, saucy, and the right amount of spicy. These are just a few of the signature flavor profiles of Korean cooking. Now you can learn how to cook your own traditional Korean style main dishes in the “Korean Cooking: Main Dishes” class on Saturday, October 7 from 10am – 2pm at Volcano Art Center Ni‘aulani Campus in Volcano Village.

Aaron and Soohee Martinson will deliver an informative classroom style workshop while simultaneously delivering fun, hands-on cooking instructions. Soohee adds a narrative to the recipes by sprinkling in anecdotes while Aaron presents visual learners with a slide show every step of the way. By the end of the class students will have what it takes to make three popular Korean main dishes at home.

This course will give students an introduction to the techniques used to make kimchi pancake, braised chicken, and kimchi stew. These recipes are used every day at Soonie Nae Restaurant in Seoul, South Korea.

Enjoy cooking demos of each of the dishes in class. All of the materials needed to prepare the dishes will be provided. Students are recommended to bring an apron.

Class fee is $55/$50 for VAC members plus a $15 supply fee. Advance registration is required.
