Damien Of Molokai, print L113, by Dietrich Varez. Blessed Damien, 1840-1889, was a missionary priest who spent the last 16 years of his life serving the quarantined Hanson’s disease patients in Kalaupapa. He was declared a saint at the Vatican on Oct. 11, 2009.
