`I`iwi Card by Gretchen Grove
Found nowhere else in the world, the spectacular scarlet-feathered `I`iwi (ee-ee-vee) is the last of the Hawaiian sickle-billed honeycreepers.
Although still abundant, `I`iwi exist only in the native Hawaiian rainforest above 4500 ft elevation where mosquitoes do not yet exist. Mosquitoes carry introduced avian diseases that `I`iwi are extremely susceptible to.
This giclée is from an original hand-colored linoleum block print by Gretchen Grove.
