Born and raised on the island of Hawai`i, photographer Rachelle Ley of Hana Punahele Images spent her childhood days playing in the native forest of Volcano to swimming in the serene tide pools of Kapoho. At a young age she was taught a deep respect the land. As an adult she obtained a degree from the University of Hawai`i at Hilo in Geography, focusing on Hawai`i’s native ecosystems.
Photography slowly developed as a passion and hobby over many years for Rachelle. Always having a camera in hand; striving to obtain an excellent photo.
Rachelle’s photographs exhibit the beauty of Hawai`i’s natural environment, accentuating scenic landscapes, native flora and fauna. She specializes in fine art photography, custom cards, enlarged prints and giclée on canvas.
