Alan Wilkinson was born in Glendale, California in 1943 and moved to Hawai`i in 1962. He attended college at UH-Manoa with interests in sculpture and Asian art history.
He began Wilkinson Koa Furniture in 1968.
Wilkinson works in all woods although clients usually request local wood, especially koa. Most commissions are residential. Recently, Wilkinson completed lobby pieces for the Four Seasons on the Big Island, and the Kahala Hilton on Oahu.
