Zentangle Inspired Art: Essence of Dr. Seuss
Join Lydia Meneses on Saturday, May 13, 2021, from 10am – 1pm at the Volcano Art Center Niaulani Campus
Some things never go out of style and are labeled a “classic.” Dr. Seuss children’s books are one of my favorite classics. Not only for the delightful and lighthearted stories but also for their whimsical illustrations.
As a teenager I picked up one of my younger sister’s Dr. Seuss story books and I was dazzled by the nonsensical illustrations. These pages made an impression on my new interest in creating art, developing mind, and style. I thought to myself, “What you can warp the world like that, way cool!”
I was inspired to create this class after attending two Dr. Seuss theme classes taught by two different CZTs. Our very own Lois Stokes guided a class in 2015 and most recently, I attended an online class with Carla Jooren from the Netherlands.
Student kit: Various Zentangle tiles including Phi tile & Zendala, Sakura black pen and various tools.
