Join instructor Lisa Louise Adams for six, fun weeks of After School Clay at Volcano Art Center which is scheduled for two sessions! Ages 9-12 on Tuesdays, starting August 16 and ages 6-9 on Wednesdays, starting August 17. Both are scheduled from 2:30pm – 4pm. Cost for the six week workshop is $55/$50 VAC Members plus a $15 materials fee.
Kids can make, glaze and fire their very own earthenware clay in this after school workshop. These simple clay forms turn into possibilities for discovery of shape, texture and color. They’ll be crazy about rolling, squeezing, twirling, and pulling easy-to-sculpt clay into fun and imaginative clay projects.
Instructor Lisa Louise will demonstrate engineering techniques that are important in working and firing clay successfully. Kids will get to experience the tactile nature of clay and how it accepts textures. They’ll also develop imagination and motor skills; it’s fun and learning rolled into one!
No previous experience needed. Bring your joy of discovery and sense of adventure.
