Learn the basics of plant propagation at Volcano Art Center!  Join instructor Zach Mermel for Ecological Land Care: Plant Propagation which is the third module of five! The workshop will be held Saturday, March 5, from 9am – 2pm with a break for lunch. Course fees are $40/$30 for VAC members and plus a $15 materials fee.

This course includes information on varietal selection, scion-wood cutting, propagation tools, rooting-out environment, and other methods for rapidly expanding the plant biodiversity for your garden, homestead, or farm.

Root cuttings, air layering, and other methods of plant propagation are centuries-old ways of preserving and reproducing the most valuable varieties of cultivated plants.

Participants will be able to take home a wide range of beautiful, useful plants. A handout of practical readings and resources for further learning is also included!
